.

Wood and Veneer

Both these materials are susceptible to prolonged exposure to sunlight. If your wood or veneer furniture pieces will be in the sun we recommend that you avoid leaving anything on the surfaces for at least the first 6-8 weeks. This will ensure that you avoid any marks or rings that could appear when the furniture sits in the sunlight.

Cleaning

When you need to clean your furniture use a damp cloth. Do not use a soaking wet cloth as this could damage your furniture. Once you've wiped your furniture use another towel or cloth to dry it thoroughly. Wood and Venner are particularly susceptible to damage when liquids are spilt on it. If this happens be sure to immediately wipe the area dry. If there are any stains use mild soap, warm water and rub gently.

Leather

Sun and heat damage

Leather, like most materials, can lighten if you leave it exposed to direct sunlight over a prolonged period of time. To avoid this fading of colour be sure that you place your leather piece away from the sun and also avoid heat as well (for example near a heater etc).

Cleaning

Leather can be easily cleaned using a soft dry cloth. If you need to remove a stronger stain you can use a cloth and warm soapy water. Be sure to always go gently. To keep your leather looking it's best we recommend cleaning it regularly with a leather cleaner.

Upholstery

Wear

To keep your cushions and pillows looking plush you will need to regularly turn and shake them. This will help your upholstery keep it's shape over long periods of time. This is applicable to foam, feather and other fibre filled cusions.

Feet

Be sure that the feet for your furniture (in particular chairs and sofas) are tightly fastened and secure. Also avoid dragging your furniture legs as this can damage the furniture itself as well as your floors. Either lift it carefully or buy furniture protectors.
