Strong yet flexible
Tough and shock-resistant, Beech also has superior bending abilities making it suitable for furniture with curves. We’ve used it for a lot of our products’ frames and carved legs. It chips less than other timbers and can take a lot of pressure over periods of time.
Close grain
The tight grain gives Beech an exceptionally smooth surface that’s perfect for lacquering. It has a natural lustre, and is odourless and incredibly strong.
“Beech is a non-porous timber with a smooth texture. It is strong yet flexible, allowing us to create beautiful carved detailing.”
Care guide
Keep Beech furniture in a cool, shady spot. Too much heat or sunlight can dry out the wood. Clean up any spillages as soon as possible. An occasional wipe down with a clean, dry cloth will have it looking good as new.
Thoughtfully sourced
Beech trees are found in mixed woodland and low mountainous regions. They come from deciduous trees, which means they shed their leaves seasonally. Our Beech wood is primarily imported from New Zealand.
