Botanical Name: Eruca sativa

A leafy, green edible plant that produces deep-green, serrated leaves with an interesting peppery flavour. It can be eaten on its own but works equally well when mixed with other salad leaves. A perfect salad that goes well together with parmesan and pine nuts. It can even be used as a substitute for basil when making pesto. Pick leaves as required.

• Planting needs – Prepare soil with a complete fertiliser prior to sowing, keep well-watered and make regular applications of liquid fertiliser during growth.
