With a long list of achievements to his name, Shannon Bennett is one of the world’s most sought after chefs today. Restaurateur to the award-winning, three hatted Vue de Monde, as well as the successful chains of Cafe Vue, Bennett recently joined the latest season of Masterchef as a resident mentor. This new venture is not only a further continuation of Bennett’s blooming profile, but a brand new challenge to the celebrity chef.
There’s much to love about Bennett, including his down-to-earth approach; if not apparent on the show, it certainly is clear in his definition of hospitality: “Hospitality isn’t about the individual, it’s about fulfilling goals and ideas as a team. I get more pride out of that.” Beyond his life’s work, we’re certain that Bennett also feels pride returning to his beautiful South Yarra located home every day.

Designed by Percy Oakden, the c1881 ‘Barwon’ sits on a 1226sqm land with four bedrooms and two studies, as well as a self-contained apartment alongside the pool. Recently purchased by Bennett in early 2013 for an estimated price of $5 million, the historic Victorian mansion’s elegant interiors are reflective of the chef’s adherence to classic techniques in his culinary profession.
